We are living in unprecedented times. The disruption to our daily lives as a result of COVID-19 has forced significant near-term changes to our personal and professional lives. With that in mind, I wanted to update our readers on Ideanomics operations.
We have active operations in several countries impacted by the outbreak. Obviously, China has been impacted the most to date and in the U.S. we are now starting to get an understanding of what that country endured in the past couple of months. Our staff in China have been working remotely since just before the Chinese New Year break at the end of January, and we are thankful that we do not have any staff infected at this point in time, in any of our locations.
Our Treeletrik team has remained operational throughout, with relatively limited cases in Malaysia, which is helped by its hot and humid climate, although the country is currently experiencing a lockdown similar to what we are seeing here in America. Our teams in the U.S. have all been advised to
work remotely since early March, and our offices in New York are temporarily closed. Our offices are being sanitized with Clorox 360 cleaning agents out of precaution and will remain closed at least until April. Similarly, our development team in the Ukraine has been asked to work remotely as there are positive cases in their city. In each case, we are fortunate to be a young company with modern infrastructure, meaning that our networks, VPN, email systems, and critical software services required to help run the business are all in the cloud and accessible to our staff so long as they have an Internet connection.
For any of you with loved ones who have been affected, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We hope that any effect this pandemic has on your lives will be as minimal as possible. Please stay safe, communicate frequently via telephone or video call with family, friends, and neighbors who are isolated alone, and hopefully this will pass in a relatively short period of time in our lives.

What We Are Reading
Treeletrik
- Ideanomics eyes Treeletrik IPO in 2020
- Treeletrik receives land title in port area for development into assembly facility
- China-based manufacturing partners to be part of land development, to include belt-and-road investment
Treeletrik is ramping up its operations as it begins to secure sizeable electric motorbike and moped orders through distributors in Indonesia and initiates conversations with other countries. Additionally, through the course of the month, the leasehold of land graded for development has been upgraded to title holder which provides Treeletrik flexibility in developing the 250-acre site at Gebeng Industrial Estate in Kuantan, Pahang Darul Makmur. The land development, manufacturing partnerships, belt-and-road investment, and large-scale orders will all result in significant expansion in Treeletrik’s Malaysian and international operations. The company is exploring a public offering in either Singapore or Hong Kong in late 2020.
Grapevine Village
On Saturday, March 7th, Grapevine Village hosted an event to celebrate International Women’s Day 2020 featuring media mogul and entrepreneur Yang Lan, Vera Wang, founder of WG Empire, and Kristen Standish, CEO of Grapevine. The event, “Empowering Women Through Fashion, Entrepreneurship, and the Influencer Trust Economy,” is in spirit with this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #EachforEqual, which featured panelists who celebrate their differences, champion diversity, and promote equality.
